Car turbines are also otherwise known as turbochargers. Implicit in the name is the general scheme of the junction: turbo - power, compressor - compression. The car's compressor increases the pressure in the manifold and thus more air (oxygen) is supplied to the combustion chamber, which is needed to burn fuel.

The purpose of a turbine in a car - to supply a large fuel-air mixture and increase engine power.

In addition, compressors effectively convert fuel energy into beneficial power (reduce consumption).

The construction of a car turbine is simple:

  • Two worms - compressor (cold) and turbine (hot);
  • Inlet and outlet rotor;
  • Bearing cartridge;
  • Cooling system circuit.

All components attach to the shaft and are incorporated throughout the housing.

Principles of automotive compressor operation
The hot exhaust gas sets the turbine wheel in motion, and it in turn forces the compressor wheel to rotate - the parts attach to a single shaft. The compressor acts as an air conditioner: it draws in air, compresses it and, under pressure, lets it flow into the engine cylinders.

The compressing air heats up, so the turbocharger design provides for a cooling system.

In addition, the keyway impeller creates excessive pressure, which exits through a through valve.
